High School Team Registration
The following is a sample of most questions that people new to the program have: Hopefully we hit on most of them, but if you can think of others feel free to reach out to us. Remember, AAU basketball is 'organized chaos' and although sometimes things pop up that are out of our control, we always will figure out a way to get our mission accomplished. Welcome to the Family!
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
This registration is for our high school players 15u-17u
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Our season will begin as soon as the high school basketball season is over and the state tournament is final. We normally play in our first tournament the third weekend of March and between then and June play in 4 tournaments. We do NOT play or practice in June because the players go back to their high schools to play. However, we do resume in July and will play in another 4 events.
Where are the games usually held?
I will attach last years schedule so that people can get an idea of what to expect:
2024 Travel Schedules
Spring
March 29th-31. Oklahoma City
April 5-7. Denver (*Prep Hoops)
April 12-14. Dallas
April 26-28. Fort Collins
May 3-5. Phoenix (*Prep Hoops)
May 24-26. Phoenix
Summer
July 5-7. Las Vegas or Dallas
July 11-14. Phoenix
July 19-21. Indianapolis
July 26-28. Omaha
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Practice times and locations are TBD once the high school season is near completion. Unfortunately, we are not afforded the luxury of practicing a ton because the high school season in New Mexico ends two/three weeks after most states. So once we finish here, the AAU season is already three weeks ahead. We will also practice out of town when we have the majority of the team together.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Most tournaments will be using a showcase format meaning that we will be playing 4 games a weekend. Some weekends will be regular tournament scheduling and we can play anywhere from 4-7 games. These events usually take place in July.
Jerseys + Gear
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Each player will receive two sets of jerseys, a pair of circuit shoes, a travel bag, a shooting shirt, and socks.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Just to reiterate, this registration of $4000 will cover both sets of jerseys, shoes, bag, shooting shirt, socks, two flights, and all hotel stays, rental vans, gas, etc...
The only cost unaccounted for is probably meals for your child. I would say on average these guys spend about $50-$70 per weekend. (But, you know your child more than me, and some eat like a monster)

2025 Teams 15u-17u
I would like to get all of you numbers so that you can start planning accordingly for such cost. I have kept meticulous numbers on the exact cost of gear, travel, etc…To make it easier going into next year, I want to give ONE number that includes the registrations, the gear, AND the hotels. This year we will also include two flights for the July periods.
Breakdown:
$1100 registration fees (gear and all tournament entries) This pays for two sets of jerseys, shooting shirts, backpack, socks, and shoes. Also, the teams will participate in 7-9 out of state tournaments.
$1600 for all hotel stays throughout the entire spring and summer (some weekends the hotels were $135 and some were $175, so I guesstimated a happy medium between 8/9 tournaments) I want the boys to stay together next year because I am sold on having that camaraderie off the court as well as on. We saw it firsthand that when these guys get along off the court, their bond and willingness for one another on the court goes to the next level.
$1100 Flights. This averages out to $550 for two round-trip tickets to our tournaments in July. All of the other tournaments will be considered regional (Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Nevada) and we will drive to them as a team.
Lastly, I will once again ask from each family that you find $200 worth of local sponsorships. This primarily pays for the the coaches travel and rooms. We will start sending out our 2024 sponsorship letterhead, as well as attach Southwest credit card application links within the next week via email.
Total: $4000
(Payment plans are available on this website)
All payments need to be completed by February 13th of 2025.
